First post!

As I write this, I'm working on getting this site up in order. The aim of this blog is to get me a chance to do writing that doesn't have anything to do with tech or politics, unlike what I spend my time doing over on my main blog.

I'll quickly just mention that this site, like my main, is built using 11ty. I happen to be learning how to properly use 11ty now that I'm building this, and the purpose of this site is to be as simple and basic as possible. It should instill a feeling of calm.

Besides that, I'm headed up to move in at university next week, so I think that should be a fun next chapter. I snagged myself a crappy little point-and-shoot digital camera from Walmart for a few bucks the other day. It's got a USB C cable, uses a micro SD (which I need to buy), and has a built-in memory that can store around 100 photos at a time while I'm putting off the memory chip.

I've been using it to take silly little photos, then drop the resolution by a factor of 4 along both x and y, then doing some interesting dithering on it to achieve a fun kind of analog pixel art kind of feel. I'm really happy with it. It makes the photos carry a kind of mysterious, almost not real energy. Like they almost seem faked.
